I. Introducing AI Companion
Prerequisite: The administrator has enabled AI Companion for you.
Version requirement: Feishu version 7.0 or above.
AI Companion is an AI service provided by Feishu that's based on advanced algorithms. It not only empowers users with powerful document creation capabilities, but also enhances productivity, facilitates knowledge sharing, and streamlines organizational workflows.
II. What you can do
Set a name and avatar
When using AI Companion for the first time, you can click the
Edit icon in the upper-right corner of its profile card to set its name and avatar, creating a personalized companion. To make changes later, follow the same steps.

Chat with AI Companion
You can chat with the smart companion just like you would with other contacts in your list. The difference is that the smart companion can determine whether it needs to perform an internet search based on the messages you send. If it determines that a search is necessary, it will look up relevant information on the internet and provide reference answers. If a search is not required, the smart companion will utilize its large model to directly answer your questions.
Recommended commands or questions
The smart companion utilizes an algorithm to suggest commands or questions that you may want to input. This means that at times, you don't need to manually type out your message; you can simply click on the suggested prompts provided by the smart companion to quickly send a message.
- Clicking New Topic allows you to choose from various pre-defined functional scenarios in the card message sent by AI Companion. You don't have to manually input words to specify the role, identity, or usage scenario for the smart companion.
- During the chat, AI Companion recommends questions that you might want to ask based on the topics you're discussing.

Dialogue based on usage scenarios
Version requirement: Feishu version 7.7 or above.
Scenarios are designed by Feishu to lower the barrier for users to explore what AI Companion can do. AI Companion offers several predefined scenarios to help you get started using AI to perform various tasks at work. Additionally, you can create custom scenarios for your specific needs at work.
AI Companion in group chats
Version requirement: Version 7.13 or above.
Prerequisite: Only applicable to internal group chats that have not turned on the confidentiality mode. It does not support external groups or topic groups.
Click the ··· icon in the upper-right corner of the group chat, and then click the logo of the smart partner. A chat will then open on the right side of the page. On this page you can:
You can perform the following actions by clicking on the smart companion's avatar:
- In the received card messages, click on the suggested prompts provided by AI Companion to quickly summarize the recent group chat messages.
- Chat with AI Companion about the group chat. AI Companion will respond to your questions based on messages in the group.

AI summaries in meetings
Purchase information: Separate payment is required for this feature. For more information, contact Support or your Customer Success Manager.
Version requirement: Feishu version 7.25 or above.
Notice: This feature can be used without activating AI Companion.
You can turn on the AI summary feature during meetings, which provides real-time summarization of key points. After the meeting ends, detailed meeting notes are generated that all participants can access, making it easy to review conclusions and action items. Additionally, you can upload existing audio and video files to create summaries of them.
There are two ways to generate an AI summary:
Method 1: Turn on AI summary during a meeting.
Once activated, AI will automatically summarize the discussion, and you can view the summary in the panel that appears on the right.

After the meeting ends, all participants will receive an AI meeting summary card from the Video Meeting Assistant. If a participant clicks View Full Meeting Notes on the card, they can access meeting information, an AI-generated summary, and action items in a document.

If the AI summary feature is turned on during the meeting and video recording is also activated, users with view permission will be able to see an AI-generated summary in the Minutes file generated after the meeting.

Method 2: Upload local audio and video files
You can upload local audio and video files to Minutes, and the generated Minutes file will automatically include the AI summary. To learn more about Minutes, see Use Minutes.

Select text you think needs improving and AI Companion will help you adjust its length, grammar, and tone where needed.

AI Companion and Sheets
In a sheet, AI Companion can assist you with the following operations:
- Insight summarization: It can provide summaries and analysis of the sheet content and generate visual charts.
- Formula assistant: It can generate formulas based on instructions you provide, explain the meaning of formulas, and help you understand the calculation logic.
- Data processing: It can extract specific content from existing data to create new rows/columns in the spreadsheet, classify complex data, determine sentiment based on text content, and translate sheet content into other languages.
- Content creation: It can create sheets based on instructions you provide, generate bulk content, and assist with content polishing and summarization.
AI Companion and Base
In Base, AI Companion can assist you with the following operations:
- Creating or editing in Base: It can automatically create data tables or business systems, create fields in bulk, collect data, parse unstructured data and enter it into tables, create planning tables, and more.
- Field population: It can extract partial content from other cells or summarize data from other cells. For more information, see Use AI field shortcuts in Base.
- Field recommendations: Based on the field names you input, it can suggest other fields you may need to create. For more information, see Use fields in Base.
AI Companion and Forms
You can use AI Companion to create a questionnaire, helping you meet research and data collection needs.
- Click the form title, enter the topic or theme, and let AI Companion design the form for you.
- Based on your question description, AI Companion will generate questions and select the appropriate question type.
- You can generate more detailed or concise versions depending on your needs.

When composing an email, ask AI Companion to help you. It'll draft an email based on the description you provide it.
- Email templates: Compose emails by generating templates based on a specific subject.
- Smart polishing: Get help with expanding, refining, summarizing, and adding to existing email content.
