Method 1: Start a video course
First, create a group for teachers and students. Then click the camera icon in the upper right corner, and click New Meeting to start a video course in the group.
Alternatively, you can click the + icon on Feishu homepage and select New Meeting.
Note: You need to authorize Feishu to access the microphone and camera of your current device when initiating or joining a meeting for the first time.
After you have launched a video course, you can invite students, assistants or other teachers to the course through one of the following three methods:
- •Search for contacts in the search box.
- •Click the Share button to share the meeting card to other contacts or groups.
- •The meeting ID is displayed at the top left corner. You can click it to copy and share the meeting ID to other contacts or groups.
Method 2: Start a live course

You can click the ... icon - End Live Meeting and confirm the action to end the live course.
After a live course has started, you can invite students to the class.
- •The teacher can copy and share the URL of the live course, and all participants in a live course have access to the live course URL. You can click the ... icon - Copy livestream address in the action bar to forward the URL to other students.
II. Deliver a course using audio-video features
You can choose one of the following three modes to deliver a course:
1. Deliver a course by screen sharing
In a video course, participants can click the Share icon to share their own Desktop or Mobile app window.
To avoid teachers or students having choppy or delayed videos because of poor network connections, it is recommended that teaching materials are shared with students in advance when video recordings or PPTs containing video clips are used in the course, so that students can access the resources from their local drives whenever needed.
2. Deliver a course by document sharing
You can share a document in Feishu during an online course. Document sharing features highlight the following advantages:
- •Follow presenter mode: Students can select Follow presenter to closely follow the presenter's view and explanations throughout the document.
- •View at your own pace: Students can click anywhere on the window to view at their own pace whenever they wish to have a look at the document on their own.
- •Real-time collaborative editing: The teacher and students can simultaneously edit the document being shared on the screen.
- •Privacy protection: While the teacher is sharing a particular document, students will not see other windows on the teacher's computer, protecting the privacy of the teacher while allowing the teacher to deal with other issues simultaneously.
- •Improve fluency and resolution: Sharing a document requires less data, and participants can browse documents in their original resolution.
- •Teachers can change permissions for all documents shared in a course.
Note:
When Readable while being shared only is selected, the document is only available for participants to read while it is being shared, that is, students have no permission to read the document after the session is over.
When Readable is selected, the shared document is readable even after the sharing session is over.

3. Course recording
In a video course, the host can start course recording directly, and non-host participants can request the host to record the course.
A course recording contains in-meeting audios, presenter videos and shared screens. The recording file is in MP4 format and, by default, it is stored in the cloud documents of the recording initiator or host.
After the recording is over, all participants in the course will receive a push message with information of the cloud document, indicating the meeting name, date and URL to the recording file. Receivers can click the URL to visit the video recording online or download the video to a local drive. Playback speed-up is supported for online playback of recordings.
Course recording makes it easier for teachers to save their course records and for students to review what they've learned.

III. Common actions in video courses
1. Mute all / Unmute all
The meeting host can click the Host controls button to mute or unmute all microphones.
- •After the presenter selects Mute all, the microphones of all participants will be muted.
- •After the presenter selects Unmute all, the previously muted participants will receive a prompt asking whether they would like to turn on their microphones.
Note: The meeting initiator is, by default, assigned as the meeting host. If the host leaves the meeting, the system will automatically assign a new host.
2. Transfer the meeting host or remove a participant
The host can hover the mouse over a participant and then click the ... icon and select Remove from meeting or Make host as needed.
3. Share your screen
You can select and share any relevant document by clicking Share and selecting Magic Share.
Students can view at their own pace by clicking anywhere on the window to browse shared documents. You can also choose to stop the students and let them exclusively follow your pace.
During screen-sharing, if another participant needs to explain part of the content, you can click on Pass on sharing at the top of the screen to switch the sharing role to another participant, and the participants in Follow presenter mode will also follow the new sharer's pace to view the document.
4. Lock a meeting
The meeting locking feature serves to enhance the security of a video meeting. You can click the Host controls button and then click Lock meeting to lock a meeting.
The available features and permissions of participants will change after a meeting is locked.
Host: The host can invite teachers or students to join a meeting by calling particular users, but they cannot invite others by sharing the meeting card.
Other participants: They will not be allowed to use the Invite function and hence cannot invite others into the course.
5. Subtitles
During the course, students can Turn subtitles on to open Chinese and English subtitles, and search historical subtitles by speaker or keyword, so they can review the course and check the content they don't fully understand.
6. Interaction
During the course, students can interact with the teacher using text or emojis, and ask their questions at any time. In turn, the teacher can receive the students' questions and answer them in time.
