Admin | Set up anti-cheating rules for Attendance

Admin | Set up anti-cheating rules for Attendance

2 min read
I. Intro
🔖
Who can perform these steps: Primary administrators or administrators with "Attendance" permission.
Feishu Attendance supports anti-cheating clock-in. As an administrator, you can set anti-cheating rules in the Attendance admin console, which can detect virtual GPS apps, having others clock in on their behalf, and clocking in on different devices. When the system detects that a member has any of the above clock-in behavior, the system will intercept this clock-in and record it.
II. Steps
  1. Open the Attendance admin console and do either of the following:
  • Click New to create a new attendance group.
  • Click an existing attendance group to open its details page.
  • 250px|700px|reset
  1. Go to Attendance Settings > Anti-cheat settings. If you're editing an existing attendance group, click Edit.
  • 250px|700px|reset
  1. Select Block suspected cheating records.
  • 250px|700px|reset
  1. Select the cheating types and the actions to take in case of suspicious behavior.
  • Suspected cheating method: Select the behaviors that will trigger the anti-cheating rule.

    Description
    Simulated Wi-Fi cheating attendance prevention
If the system detects that the Wi-Fi security level during a member's clock-in does not meet the organization's requirements, the clock-in will be flagged as suspected cheating. If both Wi-Fi clock-in and IP-based attendance are enabled, any mismatch between the member's clock-in IP and the administrator-configured IP will also be flagged as suspected cheating.
Note: The Feishu system automatically evaluates Wi-Fi security levels based on signal characteristics. Generally, organization-grade Wi-Fi has a higher security level than home-grade Wi-Fi. We recommend that organizations with strict attendance management requirements use Feilian or similar methods to enhance Wi-Fi security levels.
    Using cheat apps
When a member clocks in and the system detects virtual positioning software on their device, it will be regarded as a suspected cheat clock-in.
    Buddy punching
If multiple members use the same device to clock in within 24 hours, it will be regarded as a suspected cheat clock-in.
Recording attendance from a different phone
If a member uses a device bound to another member to clock in, it will be regarded as a suspected cheat clock-in.
Note: If you select this option, you can also set the maximum number of devices that a member can bind for clock-in.
  • When a suspected cheating record is created: Set how the system should respond to suspected cheating.
  • Method
    Description
    Require face recognition
Members must pass face recognition to complete clocking in, but the record of suspected cheating will stay.
    Record suspected cheating cases only
The member can clock in and the record of suspected cheating will stay.
  • 250px|700px|reset
  1. Follow the on-screen instructions and click Confirm or Save to complete the configuration. You can find all the suspected cheating records at Attendance Report > Suspected cheating records, and filter the result as needed.

III. FAQs
What happens if Feishu detects multiple suspected cheating methods for a single clock-in?
One clock-in will only generate one suspected cheating record. If multiple methods are detected, only one will be recorded in the following priority order: Using cheat apps > Recording attendance from a different phone > Buddy punching.
What happens if face recognition is required for both normal clock-ins and suspected cheating clock-ins?
  • If cheating isn't suspected: After the member taps Clock In, they will undergo face recognition, and then the process will be completed.
  • If cheating is suspected:
  1. After the member taps Clock In, they will undergo face recognition.
  1. A pop-up will appear to explain that cheating is suspected.
  1. The member confirms whether they want to continue the process.
  1. If they tap Confirm, the clock-in will be completed and a suspected cheating record will be generated.
If a member uses express attendance, will the system intercept the suspected cheating clock-in?
Only Feishu mobile app version 6.8 or above can intercept suspected cheating clock-ins.
Where can I view or unbind the attendance phone?
Go to the Attendance app > Settings > My attendance phones.
